They’re working just as hard as the moms who go to work. Its just different. Stay-at-home moms are worth over $140K a year. I don’t think people realise how much stay-at-home moms are really doing. Yet, stay-at-home moms still feel pressure to get a “real” job. Unfortunately, there is a lot judgement around parenting, some people say, under their breath, like “Get a job”… 70% of stay-at-home moms say society doesn’t understand how hard they work..Done be so ignorant. Don’t be so judgmental. People do think that you’re wasting your brain staying home. (A) Why do you care what I’m doing with my time? and (B) then who’s gonna take better care of my kids? Even some husbands say, like, “What do you do all day”. Funny! I honestly just laugh, because I’m like “You have no idea”!! The day of stay-at-home moms is full of cleaning up and feeding the children..part chauffeur, part chef, part teacher, part referee. There’s never a break. Its a pretty important thing, when you think about it that they’re raising the future adults of the world..
And if you are asking “But what if I don’t want to be successful?” “What if i just want to be a mom?” People always ask what you do and you say, “Im just a stay at home mom.” And then you feel embarrassed?
Okay there is only ONE way to get over the “shame” of being a stay at home mom and its that you DON’T..because there is NO shame in being a stay at home mom..NONE. I talk a lot about goal setting and having big dreams; everybody’s dreams are different and if your dream is to be a stay at home mom and you are already there then that is incredible. Do you even know how many working moms that are “successful” dream about being able to stay at home with their kids? Tons of them! You are so lucky. Now if like you are married and your financially set up to be a stay at home mom or maybe if you live at your parents, or if its your only option right now because you have a little baby, regardless of your situation there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. You need to know how blessed you are to be able to stay at home when your kids are young..that is priceless. And one thing i want you to do is that when people ask you what you do and you say that you are just a stay at home mom, STOP saying “just”! you are not “just” a stay at home mom, you are a stay at home mom and damn PROUD of it.
